Healthy Swimmers = Safer Lessons for Everyone
To keep our families, students, and team members safe, we kindly ask parents to keep children home from swim lessons if they may be contagious.
Public pools are shared environments, and certain illnesses can spread easily β even in properly treated water. Following these guidelines helps protect everyone in our swim school community.
Please Keep Your Child Home If They Have:
π€ Fever or Flu-Like Symptoms
- Fever within the past 24 hours
- Fatigue, chills, body aches
- Cold or flu symptoms that limit participation
π€’ Stomach Illness
- Diarrhea within the past 14 days
- Diagnosed stomach infections (such as Crypto, Giardia, Salmonella)
π· Respiratory Illness
- Persistent coughing
- Sore throat with fever
π©Ή Contagious Skin Conditions
- Open sores or infected wounds
- Impetigo, ringworm, scabies, or staph infections
- Any rash that is uncovered or not yet treated
π¦ Diagnosed Contagious Disease
If a doctor has identified your child as contagious, they may return once they are no longer infectious as determined by your physician. Please remember to cancel your affected lessons on time so that you may receive a make-up for the missed lesson.
Why This Matters
Even when symptoms seem mild, contagious illnesses can:
- Spread quickly
- Put other children, families, and staff at risk
- Lead to required pool closures under California health regulations
Our goal is to protect your child, other swimmers, and our community β not to punish or inconvenience families.
